School constitution

Article I: Name and Authority

The name of this organization is Taekwondo School, hereafter referred to as School. School will be self-sustaining and is not an instrumentality of another organization. It operates only with the consent of the School Head Instructor. Operation of School is contingent on compliance with the requirements and conditions of all applicable rules and regulations.

Article II: Purpose

The purpose of School is to help the dojang maintain proper operation, by supporting numerous activities which build, support, and maintain the morale and welfare dojang members and their families.

Article III: Membership and Patronage

1. Membership is voluntary and open to all dojang members.
2. Membership dues are as determined by the Executive Committee.
3. Membership and related actions that are based upon race, color, creed, age, religion, gender, or national origin are prohibited.

Article IV: Officers and Governing Body

1. An Executive Committee will govern the operation of School It will consist of a President, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer.
2. The Executive Committee will be elected from the general membership by the general membership at an annual meeting to be held in January of each year. 
3. Duties of the officers are outlined in the School By-Laws.
4. The School Head Instructor will oversee the overall operation of School and will insure compliance with the Constitution and By-Laws.

Article V: Meetings and Elections

1. General membership meetings will be held monthly on a Wednesday. The general membership meeting in January of each year will be for election of officers to the Executive Committee.
2. Executive Committee will meet prior to each general meeting.
3. Elections will be by secret ballot.

Article VI: Officer Added Requirements

1. President will insure School Constitution and By-Laws are reviewed annually to insure they are consistent with all rules and regulations.
2. Executive Committee will protect School assets.
3. Members and officers do not have proprietary rights in School assets, and income will not accrue to any person.
4. Treasurer will forward a copy of all pertinent financial reports to the School Head Instructor.

Article VII: Finances

1. Income for the financing of School will come from the sale of dojang mementoes, and from car washes, cookouts, and other fund raising events.
2. School is registered with the IRS as a tax exempt organization.
3. School’s un-obligated assets will not exceed $5,000.
4. President will appoint a public accountant to conduct an audit when annual gross revenue exceeds $100,000.
5. Expenditures will be made by check except for petty cash requirements. Expenditures will be approved by an Expenditure Slip in accordance with the School By-Laws.
6. School will not engage in activities which compete with those of any organization with which the School is affiliated.
7. School will comply with all local, state, and federal laws.
