Patterns Section Preface |

Patterns are sets of memorized motions that must be perform in a prescribed order and way. The performance of a pattern is judged by how close the movements come to perfection as defined by a specific martial art, organization, school, or instructor. Most, but not all, martial arts use patterns as a training tool. If used correctly, patterns are useful tools in building the mental and physical skills needed in a martial art.
Topics in the patterns section address subjects related to patterns in general and to Taekwondo patterns in specific.
